Our Client is a global corporation that is setting up a centralized regional procurement function in Poland for indirect materials and services.

Position goal: 

As an Associate Category Manager, Digital Solutions you work closely with the Global Category Manager to optimally manage a MEUR 65 global spend covering purchases and vendors across IT and telecom. Associate Category Managers are given daily responsibility for select sub-categories developing and executing on strategies and sourcing opportunities within these. Digital Solutions is a global core category to our Client  where they see year on year growth in spend as well as increasing complexity in our sourced and outsourced system and solutions landscape. They are looking for an experienced IT procurement profile who will be able to take on complex digital sourcing projects from day one and is ready to take over responsibility for key sub-categories as initial onboarding is completed.

Reporting line:  Head of Procurement Support, working  closely with Global Category Manager, Regional Category Manager and Associate Category Manager to manage IT sourcing needs globally.

Key Responsibilities:

In this newly set global role you will be mostly responsible for:

  • executing on sub-category strategies closely aligned to overall procurement strategy and key stakeholder priorities.
  • facilitating professional sourcing processes from point of need identification through to contract signing and efficient implementation.
  • executing on sourcing opportunities outside own sub-categories as prioritized by the Global Category Manager, Digital Solutions
  • establishing strong stakeholder relationships to key stakeholders across own sub-categories as well as broader category to ensure early involvement in sourcing opportunities globally.
  • continuously building business and supply market insights to strengthen business partnering skills (ability to guide the right sourcing decisions based on category insights)
  • developing global regional and local sub-category strategies closely aligned to overall procurement strategy, category strategy and key stakeholder priorities.
  • developing and maintaining prioritized project portfolio
  • participating in cross-functional procurement initiatives to drive strategy deployment, process efficiencies, competencies or other prioritized objectives

Qualifications:

  • A Master Degree from a Business School or University, preferably certifications demonstrating completed training within core disciplines, such as: o Project Management, preferably Category Management , Negotiations skills (preferably IT negotiations), Presentation skills/Communication
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Project Manager (S2C) heading strategic and/or complex IT projects, in an international environment
  • Category experience derived from several years of working as a Associate Category Manager, Senior Buyer or equivalent role within IT/Digital solutions
  • Representing considerable category knowledge and successful management of +10 complex IT sourcing projects (IT outsourcing, cloud integration, SaaS)
  • Regional/global stakeholder management experience established through extensive collaboration with stakeholders across Europe/globally. The ideal candidate is able to exemplify collaboration skills and cultural aptitude through sourcing projects managed and successfully completed in close collaboration with international stakeholders
  • Experienced project manager with a strong track record of successfully completed strategic and tactical IT sourcing projects. Considerable experience and knowledge of working with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI) and identifying levers beyond monetary savings
  • Experience in negotiating IT contracts commercially and legally. Ability to front legal discussions. Good understanding of standard clauses, key commercial and legal IT contractual dynamics and associated risks
  • Demonstrating a strong ability to readily involve the right stakeholders in decisions and activities. Stakeholder and collegial interactions are characterized by an interest in understanding different perspectives and finding the right way forward as a team
  • Strong ability to relate to and work efficiently with people of different nationalities and cultures. Experienced and  comfortable with working in remote setups where projects and stakeholders are managed primarily online.
