The role
As a Category Leader you will be responsible for securing the implementation of category/commodities strategy in the region and for executing the purchasing savings pipeline in categories and cross functional teams within all BU sites in Europe.
Categories you would be responsible for are: forging, castings, turned parts. You will work in close collaboration with Regional Management, R&D project manager, Supply Chain Office, Quality Team to deliver annual value improvements, drive competitive advantage, leading regional sourcing projects.
Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Global Purchasing Director you will be mostly responsible for:
securing the implementation and deployment of the BU category strategy in the region executing and supporting performance management with relevant suppliers (scorecards, development dialogues) executing supplier consolidation suggesting suppliers for RFQ processes supporting R&D Project Manager/Specialist on R&D projects supporting as project participant in procurement projects on all relevant category activities supporting make & buy projects identifying and executing procurement KPI pipeline (P2P savings, supplier consolidation, quality & delivery performance) executing procurement projects executing contracts and annual negotiation executing RFI/RFQ and TCO processes within categories supporting and executing benchmarking studies and cost modeling participating in cross-functional projects to ensure “voice of category” in cost down projects executing price negotiations for projects and make price agreements with suppliers participating in VA/VE activities validating specification with stakeholders supporting regional teams (supplier issues, escalations)
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- BA degree
- minimum 5 years of procurement related experience from a manufacturing industry
