Global Category Manager Indirect Procurement – Mobility (travel & fleet) Location: Cracow/ hybrid (2 days in the office per week) Ref. PL22-R702-S02
Our Client is a is a global leader in industrial trucks, warehouse technology, related services and supply chain solutions. They are operating across more than 100 countries and employ around 40,000 employees.
They are relatively new central procurement organization that was set up in Poland last year. Out of their office in Cracow they will support internal stakeholders in EMEA region.
Currently they are looking for Global Category Manager who will be responsible for achievement of the overall strategic procurement requirements & target within Mobility category.
He or she will be leading a team three category buyers functionally & disciplinary who are located in several locations across EMEA. The position reports to the Senior Director Regional Procurement located in Germany.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Responsible for development and implementation of global category strategy. Manages and optimizes the category according to the goals set jointly with the Senior Director.
- Responsible for sourcing decisions in-line with category strategy.
- Defines and implements optimization strategies, i.e. standardization, design-to-cost, bundling, supplier concentration, material cost optimization measures, contract management.
- Monitors regional and global supplier markets for the category, especially in terms of global sourcing / best cost country sourcing and aligns proactively across all regions to leverage synergies.
- Responsible for application of procurement processes across global supply markets. Establishes strong relationship and maintain regular contact with stakeholders by sharing and explaining procurement requirements, policies, guidelines and ensures compliance.
- Owns project management for the category and ensures reporting of results and actions and communication at all levels.
- Fosters early supplier involvement for technologies and enables access to supplier innovations.
- Strives to innovate and deliver new approaches to drive organizational efficiencies, increase revenue, and continuously improve performance of Indirect Procurement.
- Empowers and develops a team of category buyers for high performance, promotes a positive climate by frequent communication on team and bilateral level.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business administration or another procurement related discipline
- 6+ years leadership experience in automotive (preferred) or other manufacturing industries as a Category Manager within Indirect Procurement
- In depth experience in strategic sourcing / contract management with international and local suppliers in multiple categories like Facility Management, MRO Real Estate, Production Equipment or Professional Services but especially in Mobility (Travel & Fleet).
- Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to influence at all levels
- Strong analytical mindset and facility with numbers with a proven track record in identifying and implementing cost savings
- Proven leadership and coaching skills experienced in leading multi-cultural teams in an international environment remotely
- Strong interpersonal skills, open-minded, persuasive personality with outstanding internal and external relationship management skills up to Senior Management level
- Self-driven and willing to take on responsibility, able to set priorities in a fast-paced environment and multi-task efficiently towards deadlines
- Fluent in English and German (German is a plus but not a must)
- Willingness to travel (approximately 20% of working time)
