Our Client is a global corporation that is setting up a centralized regional procurement function in Poland for indirect materials and services.

Position goal:

As a global Category Negotiator you work closely with the Global Category Managers to optimally manage a MEUR 150 global spend covering purchases and vendors across Marketing (e.g. Creative agencies, pricing & market access, market research and digital agencies) and Sales related Services (e.g. CRM data, congresses & events, company cars, commercial training, PR & PA).

Our Client’s  Category Negotiators manage tactical and strategic sourcing projects ranging from consultancy agreements to complex car fleet tenders. Our Client is looking for an experienced Procurement profile who thrives in an international environment and understands the needs and demands of a commercial organization.  In this role no two days are the same and it will require a large portion of agility and eagerness to learn as you will be exposed to many exciting projects, stakeholders and challenges.

Reporting line:  Head of Procurement Support, working  closely with work closely with the rest of the category team (Global Category Managers and associate Category Manager) as well as the Cluster Head residing in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

In this newly set global role you will be mostly responsible for:

  • project and contract management
  • executing on sourcing projects ranging from renegotiations to complex competitive tenders
  • applying category management tools and methodologies in project execution
  • supporting the Category Manager, Category Manager in Category Strategy and Planning process as well as relevant category administration (e.g. Contract and supplier management)
  • developing global regional and local sub-category strategies closely aligned to overall procurement strategy, category strategy and key stakeholder priorities. developing and maintaining prioritized project portfolio.
  • building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships enabling category progress and compliance
  • participating in cross-functional Procurement initiatives to drive strategy deployment, process efficiencies, competencies or other prioritized objectives

Qualifications:

  • A Master Degree from a Business School or University, preferably certifications demonstrating completed training within core disciplines, such as: o Project Management, preferably Category Management, Negotiations skills, Presentation skills/Communication
  • Minimum 3 years experience supporting or driving sourcing projects (professional services/ travel), in an international environment
  • Category experience derived from a minimum of 3 years experience managing  sourcing projects and/or managing the sourcing execution of these (Negotiations of commercial and legal Terms and conditions)
  • Experience from managing sourcing projects in an international environment where stakeholders were remotely located
  • Experienced project manager with a strong track record of successfully completed tactical sourcing projects
  • Experience driving projects according to category management principles is a considerable advantage
  • Experience and knowledge of working with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI) and identifying levers beyond monetary savings
  • Experience negotiating contracts commercially and legally
  • Strong ability to readily involve the right stakeholders in decisions and activities. Stakeholder and collegial interactions are characterized by an interest in understanding different perspectives and finding the right way forward as a team
  • Strong ability to relate to and work efficiently with people of different nationalities and cultures
  • Experienced and comfortable with working in remote setups where projects and stakeholders are managed primarily online
  • Demonstrates pro activeness and thrives with many ongoing projects and tasks
