Compensation: Up to €100,000 annually

Position overview: We are seeking a hands-on Interim Purchasing Manager to lead and optimize procurement processes, reporting directly to senior management. This role involves managing a small team, establishing processes and procedures from scratch, and serving as an escalation point for supplier issues. This is a full-time engagement with a minimum contract duration of 6 months.

Reporting to the Head of Sourcing or Head of Operations, you will be mostly responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

• design and implement procurement processes, procedures, and reporting frameworks to establish transparency and efficiency
• act as an escalation point for suppliers, ensuring effective issue resolution and maintaining strong relationships
• manage and mentor a small procurement team to achieve operational excellence
• utilize tools such as Power BI to analyse procurement data, drive insights, and make informed decisions
• define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement operations and reporting
• oversee sourcing strategies and lead supplier negotiations to optimize cost, quality, and delivery
• ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards in all purchasing activities
• collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as engineering, production, and finance to align procurement strategies with organizational goals
• develop and implement cost reduction strategies within the procurement process
• manage supplier contracts, ensuring favourable terms and compliance
• assess and mitigate supplier risks to ensure supply chain continuity
• serve as a senior escalation point for suppliers to resolve critical issues effectively

Qualifications:

• at least 10 years in procurement or purchasing, with a proven track record of setting up procurement processes and leading teams within international environment
• advanced analytical capabilities, including experience with Power BI, and a focus on detail-oriented tasks
• demonstrated ability to lead small teams effectively in a dynamic environment
• fluent English skills are essential for managing supplier relationships and internal collaboration
• familiarity with procurement in a technical, industrial, or manufacturing environment is preferred
• experience in cross-functional collaboration to align procurement strategies with business objectives
• expertise in cost reduction strategies and implementation within procurement
• proficiency in contract management, including negotiation and compliance
• strong skills in supplier risk management to ensure supply chain continuity
• ability to serve as a senior escalation point for suppliers and resolve critical issues
