Position overview: We are seeking a hands-on Interim Purchasing Manager to lead and optimize procurement processes, reporting directly to senior management. This role involves managing a small team, establishing processes and procedures from scratch, and serving as an escalation point for supplier issues. This is a full-time engagement with a minimum contract duration of 6 months.
Reporting to the Head of Sourcing or Head of Operations, you will be mostly responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
- design and implement procurement processes, procedures, and reporting frameworks to establish transparency and efficiency
- act as an escalation point for suppliers, ensuring effective issue resolution and maintaining strong relationships
- manage and mentor a small procurement team to achieve operational excellence
- utilize tools such as Power BI to analyse procurement data, drive insights, and make informed decisions
- define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement operations and reporting
- oversee sourcing strategies and lead supplier negotiations to optimize cost, quality, and delivery
- ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards in all purchasing activities
- collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as engineering, production, and finance to align procurement strategies with organizational goals
- develop and implement cost reduction strategies within the procurement process
- manage supplier contracts, ensuring favourable terms and compliance
- assess and mitigate supplier risks to ensure supply chain continuity
- serve as a senior escalation point for suppliers to resolve critical issues effectively
Qualifications:
- at least 10 years in procurement or purchasing, with a proven track record of setting up procurement processes and leading teams within international environment
- advanced analytical capabilities, including experience with Power BI, and a focus on detail-oriented tasks
- demonstrated ability to lead small teams effectively in a dynamic environment
- fluent English skills are essential for managing supplier relationships and internal collaboration
- familiarity with procurement in a technical, industrial, or manufacturing environment is preferred
- experience in cross-functional collaboration to align procurement strategies with business objectives
- expertise in cost reduction strategies and implementation within procurement
- proficiency in contract management, including negotiation and compliance
- strong skills in supplier risk management to ensure supply chain continuity
- ability to serve as a senior escalation point for suppliers and resolve critical issues
