Purchasing Manager (Foundry/ Global Scope/ Group Procurement) Location: Cracow or hybrid Ref. PL22- R201 – S04

To lead the Business Units (20 global) to develop the best possible supply base to support the Group medium and long-term strategy.
To ensure complete satisfaction of internal customers through timely supply of high quality products and services in the most cost and cash effective manner.
To develop and nurture a culture of ‘excellence’ to achieve best in class and continuously improving performance in all aspects of procurement operations of their categories.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to Global Category Director, you will be mostly responsible for:
- Developing in depth market knowledge and gaining a comprehensive view of all potential suppliers ensuring that all important ones have been visited.
- Conducting detailed data analysis (spend, quotations, etc.) to: understand and compare total costs of ownership, identify savings opportunities and improvement targets, verify compliance (prices, payment terms, etc.), report actual and forecasted savings/impacts and performance.
- Working with stakeholders and creating a global strategy for the managed categories
- Developing appropriate documentation to describe this strategy to Group/BU Management
- Communicating the strategy to our facilities globally at all levels to ensure implementation is followed
- Ensuring a minimum of 2 qualified sources for those materials or establish business continuity plans for single/sole sources
- Developing relationships with the suppliers to gaining in-depth knowledge of cost structures, financial stability, potential for development, capacities, etc.
- Securing and managing the procurement of the goods and services in a transparent and fair manner never compromising our quality and delivery
- Negotiating appropriate deals to ensure cash benefits and P&L savings
- Monitoring compliance to the agreed upon strategy
- Leading/managing projects with cross-functional teams
- Initiating/ support innovation projects and R&D efforts by providing continuous input from the market and identifying opportunities linked to managed categories
- Leading/ managing SCAR resolution and supplier assessments
- Developing selected suppliers’ capabilities to achieve expected results
- Drafting reviewing and approval processes and manage contracts with suppliers where \applicable
Qualifications:
- Fluent command of English
- University degree in Chemistry/ Engineering
- Proven leadership and communications skills with all levels of an organization
- Five or more years of progressive experience in international procurement
- Chemical category management experience (ex. Organic Chemicals, Polymers & Plastics, Non-Metallic Fibers, Sodium compounds, Oleochemicals & Glycerin-based products, Mineral Oils, Alloys & Ferroalloys)
- A complete understanding of concepts, practices and principles related to Procurement with a thorough knowledge and application of best practices. This assumes a good level of proficiency in most Operations areas: Health, Safety & Environment, Quality, Manufacturing.
- Thorough proficiency of Microsoft Excel
- Good knowledge of finance and cost control
- Good knowledge of Commercial and Contract Law
