Our Client is a  global producer of automotive components specializing in the design, development, and production of exterior lighting systems.

The role

As a key member of the Business Unit organization, you will be responsible for supporting the achievement of global Purchasing targets regarding electronics purchased parts to achieve Purchasing KPIs. Activities will include day-to-day support to plant and project core teams. This is a new position in the new Business Unit.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Global Lead of Program Purchasing you will be mostly responsible for:

  • Creation of RFQ packages for all new electronics parts according to latest valid project BOM
  • Sending RFQ package to supply base according to latest valid supplier panel from commodity purchasing
  • Escalating in case of some document is missing from project team
  • Reviewing the break down and negotiate piece price and tooling costs
  • Proposing supplier to sourcing board with all needed rationale
  • Supporting operational topics related to shortage of material, lead teleconferences with supplier in case of escalation from MP@L team
  • Managing design changes implementation with Electronics suppliers
  • Collecting all direct prices components from BOMs to make summary for global commodity buyers
  • Managing samples procurement including the problem solving within organization  and electronics supplier
  • Releasing  tool orders for design changes and initial tool investments too
  • Releasing purchase orders for samples according to project requirements and purchase requisitions in SAP
  • Reporting to Program and Operational buyer status of ongoing activities
  • Making Capacity studies according to changed mix rates and volumes. Sharing piece price and investments impact with Program or Operational buyer to share it with Project manager
  • Supporting  the material management on demand

The Ideal Candidate will have

  • BA degree
  • 5+ years of experience working in Program Purchasing organization in an Automotive Tier 1 supplier
  • Experience working in Purchasing of Electronic components is required
  • Experience working with SAP is a plus
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft excel
  • Ability to conduct end user training
  • Flexibility, adaptability and process improvement approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude – goes the extra mile, is committed, willing to take on challenges and has a can-do mindset.
