Position goal:

Senior Procurement Manager is a member of the global management team that is focused on leading and supporting line of business-critical sourcing projects globally. The main goals of the role are talents development and support, team up skilling, effective and active collaboration with Category Leads to effectively deploy the procurement strategy.

Reporting line:  CPO

Scope: Europe, USA, NA

Categories: direct and indirect

Team: c.a 10 people (different nationalities)


Key Responsibilities:

you will be mostly responsible for:

  • team leadership – supporting, motivating and enabling the team to deliver by providing them the tools and access to do so, supporting target setting, category strategy and planning processes, mid-year review, competency mapping and year end appraisals
  • people development - developing and facilitating the right learning opportunities across the team, acting as a competency & skills mentor
  • actively supporting the establishment and deployment of procurement strategy, priorities, objectives, and deliverables. Provide strategic insights and opportunities based on past experience and outside in perspectives and constructively challenge and be challenged by management colleagues
  • building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships effectively driving change management
  • leading cross-category improvement projects and/or training initiatives to develop individuals and/or the function overall
  • driving collaboration with Global Category Managers to ensure proper deployment of category strategies and opportunities

Qualifications: 

  • a Master Degree from a Business School or University, preferably with a major in Procurement
  • preferably certifications demonstrating completed training within core disciplines, e.g.:
  • Leadership skills, Coaching skills, Category Management, Project Management, Advanced negotiations, Presentation skills/Communication , Data analytics
  • extensive category management experience derived from minimum 10 years of working as a regional or global category manager/owner
  • extensive knowledge of best-practice category management within this field and a proven track record of defined and executed category strategy
  • successful track record in diverse team management – skilled in supporting and mentoring the team and individuals within to perform against roles and responsibilities
  • regional/global stakeholder management experience established through extensive and successful collaboration with senior stakeholders globally
  • extensive experience applying data analytics to decision making and working strategically with procurement intelligence (knowledge of Ariba or similar S2P platforms would be appreciated)
  • business partnering skills built on a profound understanding of line of business priorities
  • strategic mindset  - ability to focus on long-term opportunities while handling day-to-day issues
  • collaboration and empathy – focusing on team well- being
  • action orientation
