Our Client is a global pharmaceutical company. Due to substantial development we are looking for a Buyer to join their Corporate Procurement organization.

Position goal:

Working closely with Technical Category Manager and two associate category managers in the technical team on effective category strategy execution. You will be working closely with internal stakeholders located in Italy, Denmark and France. Your daily responsibility would be to execute sourcing  opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be mostly responsible for:

  • Source to contract projects management - be overall responsible for assigned activities within the Category areas of CAPEX, Distribution and Facility Management
  • Execute on sourcing projects ranging from renegotiations to competitive tenders (RFx)
  • Applying category and project management tools and methodologies in project execution
  • Sub-category strategies execution that are  closely aligned to overall procurement strategy and key stakeholder priorities
  • Support the efficient operation of the category team, including contract management, and proactively communicate with the Senior Category Manager and Line Manager regarding workload and prioritization
  • Stakeholders management – establishing strong stakeholder relationships to key stakeholders located to ensure early involvement in sourcing opportunities
  • Act as an  ambassador representing Corporate Procurement and the principles of the Service Delivery Model

Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a University or Business School relevant to the position
  • English fluency required
  • Project management skills with  a track record of successfully completed tactical sourcing projects
  • Experience driving projects according to category management principles
  • Technical category experience derived from managing tactical and semi-strategic sourcing projects and/or leading the sourcing execution of these would be an advantage
  • Experience and knowledge of working with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI) and identifying levers beyond monetary savings
  • Business partnering skills, strategic mindset, ability to influence, drive results and empathy
  • Ability to work in a flat, complex matrix organization where you report to your line manager and are a dedicated team member in the technical team
  • An interest in developing strategic sourcing skills (advanced project management, negotiations, legal understanding, data analysis and Category Management)
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a structured approach
  • Experience with e-sourcing and preferably Ariba is an advantage
