(Senior) Category Buyer – direct materials (EMEA region) Location: Cracow/ hybrid or home office Ref. PL22-R702-S06
Our Client is a is a global leader in industrial trucks, warehouse technology, related services and supply chain solutions. They are operating across more than 100 countries and employ around 40,000 employees.
They are relatively new central procurement organization that was set up in Poland last year. Out of their office in Cracow they will support internal stakeholders in EMEA region.
Currently they are looking for several (Senior) Category Buyer s(depending on experience)who will be responsible for managing they direct categories (ex. electronics, mechanical elements, electromechanical elements, plastics, HAVAC systems, metal components)
The positions report to the Global Category Manager located in Germany and Head of Procurement Office located in Cracow.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- execute and support development of procurement strategies in close alignment with the Category Manager
- acts or assists in effective business relationship management with suppliers; risk management and compliance management
- close collaboration with all internal business partners / stakeholders in terms of: logistics, site procurement, production, R&D, quality, supplier development etc.
- analyses supplier market, defines the supplier base and ensures the requirements are met as innovation, capacity, costs, quality and delivery reliability regards
- creates and secures implementation of the top material cost optimization projects, incl. best cost country relocation projects in the planned budget and time frame
- conducts RFx , quote comparisons, conduct regular supplier and market analysis as well as benchmarking
- price and comprehensive contract T&Cs negotiations; contract management
- accountable for comprehensive process of supplier awarding
- acts as interface between supplier and internal business partners / stakeholders
- escalation point when supply crisis or poor-quality deliveries occur, supports supply chain capacity program
- professional support in regional and global Procurement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- university degree and at least 4 years of professional experience in a similar position in direct procurement categories within global environment
- good understanding of methods for cost reduction and ability to understand and develop legal contracts
- strong negotiation skills and capable of leading negotiations for strategic supply contracts
- a business maturity and strategic thinking in a day to day decision making
- fluent English (German will be an advantage)
- good knowledge of SAP and Excel
- ability to drive projects self-reliant and successfully, deliver results
- willingness to initiate new solutions and building positive relations
