Our Client is a leading global supplier of products for hydronic distribution systems which deliver optimal and energy efficient heating and cooling systems to the residential and commercial building sectors.

The purpose of the role. 

  • The Value Engineering Leader is responsible for delivering value improvements on existing products. Value improvements are product improvements, mainly coming from design changes in terms of product cost, quality, and functions.
  • Product Design changes can be at component level or system level and involve material, manufacturing processes or functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to R&D manager pressurization and water quality  and you will be mainly responsible for:

 

  • delivering the divisional VAVE target in terms of savings and projects
  • generating ideas by running VIP workshops in Poland or any other divisional site or supplier site
  • project managing VAVE actions
  • continuing improving the tools and processes
  • performing competitors tear down activities
  • coaching the various VAVE teams in each divisional site
  • generating VAVE actions working with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders
  • drive material substitution particularly copper alloys and steel reduction
  • feasibility evaluation (cost, timing, benefits) of potential actions
  • build and maintain a VAVE project funnel
  • leading all design related activity in selective actions: creating concept, defining scope of the product, creating concept, 3D modeling and 2D drafting, mock-up and prototype preparation
  • cooperate with Procurement, Process Engineering, Quality and external Vendors in VAVE project preparation, execution and implementation
  • support in all VAVE process activities related materials and products under modification


Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant education
  • Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience as mechanical engineer or designer
  • Proven experience with design to cost analysis and value analysis
  • Excellent written and spoken English required, German a plus
  • Automotive or similar industry previous experience: HVAC experience a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in a metrics focused environment including regular reporting and analysis.
  • Team player, work across the organization internally and externally with cultural sensitivity
  • Highly results driven, hands on mentality and pragmatic approach: deliver on promises
  • With high level of integrity
  • Investigating new technologies, markets, and products, passion for continuous learning.
  • Ability to make and accept challenge positively and debate, working well under pressure
